According to the available historical evidence, the Western Saracen Tower, nowadays annexed to Villa Canevaro, goes back to the construction of the many fortifications built in Zoagli in the XVI century, as a defense against the feared pirate raids and then, in the XVII century, against the plague that threatened the Ligurian coast.

Every 3rd weekend of May the sport event "Five Bell-Towers March" takes place in Zoagli on a ring trail connecting the hamlets- and so their churches and bell- towers: S. Pietro di Rovereto, S. Giovanni Battista di Semorile, S. Ambrogio, S. Pantaleo e S. Martino.

Villa Merello, located near the Sem Benelli Castle, on the way leading to San Pantaleo, was built in 1913 by Gino Coppedè according to a particular ornamental style which mixes romanesque, gothic, baroque and Renaissance elements.

The church was probably built by the Milan people in the XVIII century after the canonization of Saint Ambrogio. This neoclassical church is located in a wonderful panoramic position on the hills surrounding Zoagli and it is connected to the church of San Pantaleo by a scenic route.

San Pantaleo Parish Church is one of the oldest churches in Zoagli, dated back to the XII century. It is located on the backside hills surrounding the fishing village Zoagli, on the panoramic route Antica Via Romana.

The parish church of San Pietro di Rovereto is located on the backside hills surrounding the fishing village Zoagli, on the back way connecting Zoagli to Chiavari. The church was probably built in the XII-XIII century and later enhanced and renovated. Nowadays it has a baroque interior, rich in plaster and plating.
