Today Sori is one of the most famous and popular Riviera resort; it has a beach very polular among Genoese and tourists during the summer: its success is due to that mix of small pebbles and sand that makes it attractive to those who have multiple needs.

Along the hillside of Sori, lies the hamlet of St. Apollinaris , a gem that definitely worths a visit for the great view it offers, from Punta Chiappa to the promontory of Portofino, from the valley of Sori to Genoa.

It’s the last one situated uphill of a series of four buildings to the left of the stairway that leads from Fulle to Sussisa. Outside there is the iron wheel, recovered from another mill which was destroyed. Inside, on the ground floor, there is the mill, on the upper floor you’ll find the millstone for corn and chestnuts, on the second floor the residence of the owner.

The first plant of the church dates back to the twelfth century, probably in the Romanesque style, subject to the parish church of San Michele Arcangelo di Pieve Ligure. In 1674 was raised to vicarage. Between 1711 and 1714 it was rebuilt by the architect Giovanni Antonio Ricca il Vecchio, while the bell tower was erected later on, and it’s now considered one of the most beautiful baroque towers in Liguria.

Fishing village of the Paradiso Gulf, Sori is located in a small inlet by the mouth of the homonymous stream. In prehistoric times the hills surrounding the village were a refuge and hunting area for the Ligurian primitive population. The origins of Sori are attested in the Roman Age in 109 B.C. Between the XI and the XVI century Sori was an animated trade centre.
