The castle, that dominates the village, was built in 1100 along one of the medieval route which led from Genoa to the Po Valley markets.
In the centuries it has undergone several restorations and was opened in 2008 after the last renovation. The semi-circular tower is built of stone and with the upper part in brick with decorative elements of Gothic style.

The parish of St. Ambrose dates back to the eleventh century. The architectural style, very common in Liguria, is Romanesque Lombard style.
Inside the parish it’s interesting to see a polychrome wooden statue of S. Ambrogio, of the fifteenth century. It's a national monument since 1920.

Entitled to Nicola da Bari, the church, located on the main square, next to the Town Hall and the Museum of Flora and Fauna of the Park of Monte Antola, it was erected around the end of 1200 on the site where there was a religious building in Romanesque style. It underwent a subsequent restoration in the eighteenth century, the same period when the tower was also erected.

Situated in the hamlet of Borgo Fornari, in a panoramic position, the villa was built between 1909 and 1910 and designed by Gino Coppedè, on commission of the Davidson family, as a summer residence, it later became nurseries for the children of the country.

The Museum of the Partisan in Propata is the evidence of an important historical period for the Trebbia Valley: among these mountains the action of the partisans gave rise to significant episodes in fact, many of which are told by the poet Giorgio Caproni. From here partisans went down to the city, the same partisans who forced the Nazi-Fascists to surrender. Idealistic and brave boys and girls, the partisans found help and refuge from the people of the country.

It’s one of the most significant historical and artistic monuments of Trebbia Valley. Erected in 1486, the sacred edifice was affected by expansions and decorative works in the Baroque period, while the facade was rebuilt in neoclassical style, with brick pilasters and pediment, in 1897. Inside is an ancient wooden crucifix dating from 1600, a painting of the seventeenth-century Ligurian School, and one by Agostino Ratti, 1750, and a confessional, also dated seventeenth century.
