The Villa Brignole Sale Duchess of Galliera owes its name to its latest owner the Duchess Maria Brignole Sale. The park is magnificent and extends over 250.000 square meters on the hill Castellana. The whole garden was designed in 1876 by the architect Giuseppe Rovelli. The villa overlooks a typical Italian garden. Two symmetrical stairs let the visitor into the palace which hosts the original “Sala delle conchiglie” (Shell Room) and the “Teatrino” (a miniature theatre).

Vesima is a narrow strip of land wedged between sea and hills, a tiny village with few houses overlooking an enchanting beach - partly equipped with bathing establishments. The beach lays between two cliffs plunging into crystal clear, fishy water. Vesima beach has always been one of the favourite summer destination of the Genoese since it is only few kilometres far from the city, it’s connected by a summer train service and it offers crystal blue waters and a wide sandy or pebbled beach.

The sanctuary is located inside the complex of Villa Birgnole Sale Duchess of Galliera in Genova Voltri.
It has ancient origins (IV century). It was made up originally of the ancient parish church of San Nicolò di Voltri - mentioned in 1205 but likely with more ancient roots – and an annexed pilgrim hospital - already known in 1368.

The parish church of San Nicolò and Erasmo is a monumental building of great artistic value. The church was erected on a basilica floor plan, following the model of the Church of San Siro in Genoa.

The church of Sant'Ambrogio, built in 1620 on the remains of a previous building dating back 1266, boasts on the first altar to the right of the Nativity of Mary, while the Annunciation and Saint Ambrose pardons Emperor Theodosius are respectively on the third and fourth.

Behind the seafront of Pegli, on a parallel street, there is the entrance to Villa Durazzo Pallavicini. The first steps along the road that leads to the Villa are charming: it’s home to the Museum of Ligurian Archaeology and also contains marbles from ancient Rome. Not far away a unique journey into nature begins; it’s conceived as a screenplay in three acts by the Genovese Michele Canzio, stage of the Teatro Carlo Felice, designer and creator of the nineteenth-century version of the park (1840-46) commissioned by Ignazio Pallavicini and further by his daughter Teresa.
